Most recent watch: Mononoke (2007)
I loved this. It's creepy, it's weird, and it's got so many textures. Can you tell, I love textures? I also love how there's very little backstory or development on the Medicine Seller. I forgot what it's like for stories to leave gaps for the viewer to fill in themselves.
This is an excellent show to watch at 4am when you should be getting ready for work. It definitely doesn't do anything weird to your mindset! My favorite episodes were Nue, parts 1 and 2.
I've got the movie on my to-watch list.

Favorite Book: Flights by Olga Tokarczuk
This book is everything to me and I'm not sure why. I own it in all the languages I'm learning. Something about the comfort of isolation vs. the prison of being perceived. This doesn't have a single plot, it's got several thematically-related segments.
Olga Tokarczuk is one of my favorite writers. Her attitude towards things that stress me out, like death, family, sickness, etc, are very calming. Again, not sure why.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
I want to make fanart for this movie. I want to eat the art style. Is this normal? Probably not. Vampires in space!
In all seriousness, when I start studying art styles, this is on my list. I love the old-school exaggerated features and the look of the shading.
